Food Choice
The identified family is the Cui. They live in the rural setting of China. They have small detached rooms in which they practice small-scale farming. Their kitchen garden provides precious food that is mostly cultivated from the surrounding environment. Fruits also make a big chunk of the food portion. The family gets financial support from Wu Xianglian who is their only working son. Therefore, they have to strategize methods of feeding own family. Food choice is crucial for a healthy family. The familiarity gets corn from their farm as well as other fruits.
Using food from the own farm is crucial. I do like traditional food very much. They have a low likelihood of imposing diseases to feeders. Also, the mixture of the western type of food has better-quality the meal time experience in a Chinese population at the moment (Menzel, & D’Aluisio, 2005). The meal time that has puzzled me is the Natoma’s family based in Niger River. I do not understand how someone can consume millet. The kind of food is unique to me, and I have never anticipated such a meal in my lifetime. The Cui’s family uses food that I have anticipated in several occasions in my life.
The variation in food choices is, therefore, greatly attributed to cultural differences. Individual culture embraces particular food, which to certain race may sound awkward. Therefore, geographical regions such as Africa, Asia, USA, Europe, etc. have a significant influence on the type of food that people use. Apart from culture, geographical locations affect particular growth of a given crop. The combination of Cultures system and geographical locations plays a crucial role (Wang et al., 2016).
The most common food I do eat is the noodles. It is a fast food and easy to make. The ingredients that are used to make noodles such as wheat, rice, or mung bean starch pass through a series of steps before reaching the consumers. Wheat undergoes industrial processing as well as rice. Then the company sells it to the retailers who after that sells it to customers such as hotels that use the same to produce noodles. Therefore, I approximate that it undergoes a series of handlers before it reaches the required destination.
Other ingredients such as oil also undergo the same process. The handlers are quite high before it reaches the destination. It undergoes the industrial processes before it reaches the retailers and then users. I approximate at least 50 people get to touch the ingredients before it reaches the final point. Noteworthy, the prepared food can be as well be retailed to various people. The source producer may not sell the food. Therefore, the chain extends.
My notion of traditional food is positive. They do not have many ingredients embedded in the meal. Therefore, they improve the health of individuals. That is why I preferred Cui’s family food culture more than any meal presented in the study selections.
Family food choice is necessary, and it depends on the culture system and geographical locations. Also, the additives that are put on food do change the flavors. It would be wise if people can adopt a healthy lifestyle through adopting proper food choices. The more traditional the food someone uses increases the likelihood of the having better health. Significantly, I have grown to accept and understand other food stuff in the Oregon such as Pizza. Embracing the Western culture system food is not bad.
