Introduction
Peanut butter is a product that is hypothetically a food paste that is made from ground dry roasted peanuts and contains extra ingredients that modify either the taste or color of the ground nuts paste. Peanut butter is one of the most popular products in several nations United States of America being the leading exporter and also the main countries on its consumption. The product is usually spread on the slices of bread, toast, or crackers and used to make sandwiches. Apart from making sandwiches, it can also be is several confections and packaged meals including Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, which are typically made of chocolate-coated peanut. Other candies and packaged meals include candy bars such as Snickers and peanut-flavored granola bars.  There are also other varieties of nut butter that are being sold all over the world such as cashew butter and almond butter which are much profitable.
Importance of Peanut Butter
Peanut plays an essential role in the life of an individual since it is used to reduce the body weight. Ideally, it is a food diet containing approximately 180 to 210 calories whenever served. In many cases, it looks counter-intuitive, but the product contains fiber and protein that makes the consumer feels more comfortable every time. Licking peanut butter from the spoon plays a role in the body since it assists the dieters to fight cravings and be on track. Ideologically, peanut butter is healthier to the body of an individual unless when a person is allergic to it. Another significant benefit of the product is that it contains healthy fat monounsaturated that is healthier for the body (Craft et al., 311). According to the research, insulin-resistant individuals who took in a diet full of mono-saturated fat had less belly fat when compared to other people who took diet full of carbohydrates or saturated fat.
Thirdly, the product prevents gallstones. To elaborate, when an individual consumes more nuts in a week, it reduces his/her chances of getting gallstones by approximately 30 percent as compared to those who never serve nuts at all. Accordingly, heavy consumers of nuts remain healthier than those who totally do not serve nuts. Despite the fact that peanuts fall under legumes, they are contemplated as nuts according to the experiment that was performed by the experienced biologists (Duke 32). More importantly, peanut butter has a high amount of protein and potassium which plays a role in limiting the chances of several disorders such as high blood pressure, stroke and other heart disorders (Duke 32). It also has fiber that improves the health of an individual’s bowel and magnesium for strengthening the bones and muscles.
How to Make Peanut Butter
Making the product is not that complicated rather it is incredibly and ridiculously easy. A few simple stages are required so as to obtain a standardize product and make it spoonable and spreadable. All that is needed is the blender though the mix would appear crumbly and dry at the base of the food processor. Once such a dry mix is observed, the blender will have to grind the nuts for some more time until it starts resembling a peanut butter (Li, Clark and Winchester 403). After approximately three minutes final products of peanut butter paste may appear. When comparing the homemade peanut and commercially prepared peanut, the homemade peanut usually appears rougher.
The basic materials that are required so as to come up with the quality peanut butter are roasted peanuts (Kalnikaite et al., 15). Others include kosher salt, honey, and peanut oil. With the above raw materials, an individual will be in a position to make a regular peanut butter when he/she follows the aforementioned procedure.
Each and every business person is aware of the safety of the products which is considered as the most vital. Therefore, the most initial step should be finding tight-fitting containers including boxes that will give the peanut products a snug fit by not only giving them protection during transportation but also maintain the necessary weight under control. Importantly, they will ensure that the peanut butter is safe and hygienically packaged for human consumption. As a result, the shipping cost will be limited giving the businessperson a greater opportunity to make a good profit. More importantly, a slightly larger container is required that will enable easy wrapping in the shock absorbing materials. Materials Used in Industrial Peanut Butter
The industrial peanut butter also performs the same functions in the body the same way as homemade peanut butter does, except that the products are exposed to the market to be sold and are produced in bulk. The industry is usually able to produce butter line with various capacities depending on the customers’ requirements. Several devices are used in the industry performing different tasks such as a cooling belt which precisely cool the peanut after roasting. Peeling machine is also another important device that peels the peanuts after drying and roasting. Selection is regularly made using a device known as picking belt so as to select the unqualified peanuts and residue. After selection, the grinder machine will be applied so as to perform grinding and cooling of the final product using a condenser. This process is done immediately after grinding (Ha et al., 145). Degassing tank is also another major device that degasses peanut butter before they are filled and packed using a setting reservoir. The figure below shows a clear flow chart of the operation.
The industry works perfectly with adjustments that are regularly done depending on the product that is being prepared. One of the key things is proper supervision of the employees so as to make sure that every worker performs his or her best. Customers’ satisfaction is also a major concern since customers determine the future position of the industry. As such, the employees should always offer them quality services and products. If customers feel rejected, the company may collapse since it will not have any clients to purchase its products. Secondly, if the employees are not monitored, most of them may formulate their own guidelines and procedures that may not be beneficial to the company.
Normally, it is advisable to use highly quality machines which may last longer and produce quality products that fit customers’ requirements. An excellent tool that is recommended costs approximately $2232 per set. Peanuts are usually sold at $3.00 for every pound, and this gives a profit if properly sold. Conducting the Break Even Analysis
Performing a breakeven analysis plays a significant role in each and every business since it will determine the sales a persons should make in order to recover all fixed costs incurred by the firm. In the company, one needs to make a decision in the break-even analysis so as to keep the success of the business. The decisions involve applying the concepts of not only the break-even analysis but also the contribution margin. Whenever the financial position of the firm is calculated, the contribution margin is one of the major concerns that must be considered so as to determine the direction of the business (Bardach and Eric 33). Through this, the business person will be a great position to make the decisions whether ton accepts the bulk orders of the raw materials that will be used to make peanut.
Methods of Quality Control and Quality Assurance
Quality control and quality assurance are primary methods that can be used by a company to plan and implement the structured methods within the firm so as to ensure high quality in product creation. One of the primary methods of quality control and assurance that can be applied to maintain the quality of the outputs throughout the assembly process is the six sigma approach. Six Sigma methods eliminate every defect through any available process from manufacturing to transactional and also from products direct to service (Laurie et al., 592). As such, the company will ensure that it has quality products in the entire assembly process, which will enable it to make huge profits. The rejected products will always be recycled so as to maintain the flow of quality products and avoid pollution.
Steps to Forecast the Annual Demand of the Product
Four different steps can be used to predict the annual demand of the products. The four phases include:

  1. Elucidating the market
  2. Apportioning total industry demand into various components
  3. Prognosticating the drivers of the request in every section and project
  4. Carry out necessary analysis so as to understand critical assumption and also to collect the risks that may be encountered

Apart from that, the system ensures that each and every employee is treated with total respect and dignity. Through this process, the company will always get the maximum cooperation since every worker will work for the success of the firm.
